China Foundry Association (CFA) is a national non-governmental organization approved by the State Council of P. R. China. In 2009, CFA has been rated Four-Star non-governmental organization by Ministry of Civil Affairs of P.R China. CFA’s registered members totals 1869 by the end of 2008, whose casting production accounts for 72% of whole production in China. CFA comprises foundries, foundry equipment and materials suppliers, institutional units, scientific research institutes and regional foundry associations in
China. It represents and serves for the interests of national foundry industry and promotes the development of the foundry field.

CFA is responsible for promoting the development of the foundry industry, protecting the industry interests, strengthening the discipline of the industry, and reflecting the claims of the members. It acts as the bridge linking the governments and enterprises and serves for enterprises. Meanwhile, CFA also organizes the international exhibitions and conference related with the foundry field, conducts international technical exchanges and cooperation, carries on overseas special investigation and provides the information of this field,technical consultation, training and so on.

The primary tasks of the Association are:

• To act as a “bridge” between the government and foundry enterprises;
• To provide sales information;
• To offer consulting services;
• To organize large scale international foundry exhibitions;
• To organize large scale international foundry directors conference;
• To organize technical exchanges;
• To organize overseas study tour;
• To promote international co-operations;
• To arrange trade negotiations between Chinese and foreign foundry enterprises;
• To offer services on translation, printing, publication, distribution, photo taking, video production,

promotion, etc.
